Someone hearing the term white coffee for the first time might very well wonder if there is a coffee bean that produces actual white coffee. Well, there isn’t.
White coffee is a term that refers to coffee in which milk or creamer is added, lightening the color (as opposed to black coffee where no milk or creamer is added).
There are also white coffee beans. These are beans that have been under-roasted, giving the bean a lighter color and the brew a lighter taste than the average coffee.
White Coffee even has a special meaning in Malaysia. Known also as 'Ipoh White Coffee', it's enjoyed locally by roasting coffee beans with margarine and serving it with milk. The end result? A creamy, smooth and aromatic cup of coffee!
