Why have you changed the NESCAFE Original recipe?

We still want you to enjoy the full and bold flavour of NESCAFÉ Original, but have amended our recipe so it’s now smoother!

I don't like the new recipe; can you recommend something that tastes like the old recipe?

If you prefer a coffee that is darker, stronger and richer we would recommend NESCAFÉ Black Roast. Our beans are carefully selected and roasted for longer to develop a new level of richness and intensity in both flavour and aroma. Full of character and perfect for a strong start to the morning! 

Can I still get the old NESCAFÉ Original recipe?

Rest assured, the full and bold flavour of NESCAFÉ Original has not been changed. We now roast our Arabica and Robusta coffee beans separately to create a smoother taste. However, if you prefer a stronger, richer taste we would recommend NESCAFÉ Black Roast

Will all your NESCAFÉ Original products use the new recipe?

Within the NESCAFÉ Original family, NESCAFÉ Black Roast and NESCAFÉ Decaf will still have their distinctive full and bold flavour. 

What you mean by NESCAFÉ Original is 'now smoother'?

We now roast our Arabica and Robusta coffee beans separately to create a smoother taste. We use something called split roast technology. So whilst you still get the full and bold flavour of NESCAFÉ Original the taste is now smoother.  

What is the difference between Robusta and Arabica coffee beans?

There are over 120 varieties of coffee plants and each produces a different type of coffee bean, however most of the coffee we consume comes from just two variants, Robusta and Arabica or a blend of the two. 

Robusta is a type of coffee bean and has lower acidity levels than Arabica coffee, meaning it generally tastes much less sweet. Due to its simpler acidity and deeper and stronger flavour compounds, Robusta can produce tones of wood or burnt rubber. It’s a popular choice for espressos due to the rich flavour and layer of crema it gives. Arabica coffee beans are known for their vibrant and complex flavours. These beans are loved by coffee connoisseurs because they tend to have a sweeter, softer taste, with tones of fruits, florals, chocolate and nuts.

We source coffee beans for NESCAFE Original from countries like Colombia, Brazil, Honduras, Vietnam and Indonesia. We source our coffee responsibly, ensuring the conservation of natural resources to protect soil health and crop growth.
