NESCAFÉ RICOFFY
NESCAFÉ RICOFFY is fortunate to have had the privilege to be in so many South African homes for 50 years. As the people of Mzansi, we embrace our originality through South Africanness.

It’s the way we talk, the rhythm in our walk and istyla-sethu. The vibe we bring to any space, we’ve got “that thing” that only we understand. It’s our collective humour, our heartfelt compassion, we share so much and even in our differences there’s something about being South African that’s authentically us. You can’t always explain it, but we all get it.

.

To celebrate our South Africanness, we asked you to submit unique South African words and phrases to help us build our MZANSAYTM Keyboard.
We received over 7000 entries, of which 3000 unique words made the cut and now we can all ringa the Mzansi way using the MZANSAYTM Keyboard.
No more autocorrect and ridiculous predictive text when you really just need a good chat with bo-chommi. Let’s celebrate 50 years of doing us.

We got Karabo Poppy, a South African multi-award-winning illustrator and street artist, to #SPEAKMZANSAY through design and helping us express our South Africanness on our NESCAFÉ RICOFFY tin.
She used iconic Mzansi-nisms from “heita” to “lekker” and elements, to express our identity the South Africanness way! This limited-edition tin is available in-store while stock lasts, so shesha.
We partnered with legendary fashion icon, Gert-Johan Coetzee who designed a limited-edition bucket hat that truly embodies the essence of South Africanness. The inspiration for the design came from the words that you submitted and his Cow Couture Collection that he showcased at the 2021 SA Fashion Week.
