Why change something?

I have lost count how many years/decades I have been spoiling myself with Nescafe Mocha Sachets. Last week I stocked up as they were half price where I shop and the difference in taste is horrible. There is no froth, the color of the coffee is now dark brown when it used to be much paler and the taste is horrible. It's a bit like there is too much chocolate in it which makes it bitter. The whole experience of settling down with a magazine and Mocha Sachet has been taken away from me. I have so much of this horrible stuff I will try to return it but not having the receipt will make it difficult. Can you give me one good reason why you have ruined Nestle Mocha Coffee Sachets. Whatever it is, I don't forgive you because you should have asked for your customers opinion before changing something to that extreme.

Substantial recent flavour and appearance change

Hi,
This used to be my favourite daily coffee indulgence, but a recent purchase revealed a substantial flavour change that is horrible. It tastes like artificial sweetener and the it no longer froths up like it used to. I thought it might be the batch but a different box had the same result. All were recently purchased in Woolworths and had an expiry date 2022. It is so disappointing and I will no longer be purchasing this item. Just an awful, awful flavour and appearance. I would give it no stars if I could.

The flavour has recently changed and is no longer agreeable to me. Also the claim of a layer of creamy froth is no longer factual. There is no froth. Please return to the original recipe. I shan't buy the present revised recipe. Are you going to take this critism seriously?

We love the Nescafe Mocha sachets, but the two boxes we've purchased most recently have a very different taste and do not froth up well at all. Bring back the old recipe!

Flavour tastes different

Recently purchased a second packet of Nescafe Mocha packets
And again the flavour has a caramel taste and smell. There is no chocolate flavour at all. Very disappointing to say theleast. If I wanted a caramel coffee I would buy it in the first place. Only coffee I really enjoyed, and now I can't even do that. Won't be buying nescafe again.

Mocha frothy top

The creamy thick froth is now thin and watery and disapears before you can finish your cup...They will be off my shopping list unless you make them like they were before. Dissapointing.

Denying change to the recipe when it suddenly tastes TERRIBLE

Like the above review, I wholeheartedly agree with your disgruntled customer above. Poor form Nescafé! I used to enjoy my morning mocha, which would often become a anytime beverage. But now, I dread the awful taste and have moved back onto tea. I am also in 100% agreement with the one star review and have repeated it on mine. Don’t try and fix what ain’t broken! And if you are denying recipe change, please please PLEASE go and investigate what’s going on in the production of what used to be a amazing cuppa!

My wife and I have been enjoying mocha sachets for a few years now and we have always enjoyed them immensely, until recently that is...

I am not sure what nescafe has done but ever since the start of this year something has changed and they do not taste as nice as they used to.

I agree with Linda's comment completely. Very disappointed in the taste of nescafe mocha.

My wife has been trying out moccona sachets now but we both still miss the original taste of the mocha sachets.

Difference in taste

I have been enjoying mochas for years now however the last few boxes we've bought have tasted so bad we've ended up tipping it down the sink. It is at the point where we are going to stop buying this product. There seems to be too much chocolate or a different kind of chocolate that is making it taste bitter.

Change in Taste

I have always loved the Nescafe Mocha Sachets more than any other brand, yet the last few boxes I have bought over the last few weeks have had a much different taste. I am unsure whether this is a deliberate change in recipe or just bad batches but I do not enjoy this new taste at all. It is a lot darker in colour and tastes very bitter. I am not a fan and will not continue purchasing if this is a deliberate recipe change.

Why change your mocha sachets when they were so good, someone has changed the formula.. sack them because they don’t know there job. I am very disappointed...Regards P Taunton.

Taste is not consistent

I recently bought 10 packs of Mocha, I noticed the mocha does not taste the same even though I drink it everyday so I noticed the flavour changing significantly. I would give higher rating if the taste is actually consistent.

I totally agree with the other reviews. I’ve been drinking this coffee for countless years and have recently found them to have a very unpleasant flavour. I had mixed two 2 boxes to store in my cupboard and it was very obvious when I used a sachet from the new box compared to one from the older box. I don’t think I can keep drinking this, such a shame ☹️

Horrible taste

Recently purchased a few packs, now all in the bin. The taste was horrible.. bitter.. the smell and taste is off, no way near the old mocha that I had every morning...Will not purchase again. Don't even worth a star. Very disappointed

My husband is very disappointed that you seem to have changed the recipe of your Nescafe Mocha sachets, they are the only beverage he enjoyed. It is now way too sweet and there is very little froth, which was the highlight of the drink. We purchased several boxes when on half price special recently and most likely won't be using them. We hope you seriously review the product and investigate the problem... thanks

Your mocha is now awful, theres no froth and the taste is like almond... its the one thing I look forward to in the morning. Please change it back to the original sachets, I wont be buying again until its fixed

We have been enjoying these for years but as stated in other reviews, the taste and froth is now different and unenjoyable. Can you please let me know if this is short lived?

I too agree with the above comments. My favourite cuppa is just not what it used to be at all! Very disappointing! Unusual taste, very little froth, not at all creamy. I’ve even opened different boxes with a different best by date but there is no difference. ( Dec 2021 and Jan 2022). Look forward to you investigating and bringing back the real mocha.

What happened to the delicious flavour??? I have been enjoying these satchels for many many years but lately the taste is God awful dish water!!! Very very disappointing, please fix this issue as I will not be buying this product until it’s back the way it was 😡

I have noticed recently that my nightly cup of mocha is not tasting the same as it used to and has no froth at all. At first I thought I must have purchased an out of date box but on checking, that is not the case. I have read a few of the reviews and it's nice to know I'm not imagining it as other consumers are feeling the same

Flavor is disgusting. Tastes like cheap chocolate to me. I can smell it too. I will not be buying this again.

I agree with the above comments - what has happened to the Mocha satchels? I've been drinking them for years and the last few boxes purchased have all had a distinctly different taste. You can no longer taste the coffee - more a malty watery flavour? Please bring back the old recipe. Thank you

Please bring back the old Mocha recipe

Nestle, please bring back the original Nescafe Sachet Mocha recipe! I have read the previous comments and totally refute your claims that the recipe has not changed. Everyone in my family has noticed and commented (negatively) on the recipe change.
We are currently away on a caravanning holiday and we had some older sachets in the van. The older sachets where light in colour and frothy on top. I had to turn my cup constantly to enjoy the frothy remnants on the inside of my cup. The "recently purchased" sachets leave a brown slick and the Mocha tastes like "flat" chocolate and has lost it frothy creaminess.
Please stop the platitudes about how sorry you are that we are disappointed, and just change the recipe back to the original, enjoyable and comforting drink that it was. If you won't change it back, then offer your market a "frothy and creamier" option.

My husband & I like all the people in the above comments have definitely noticed a change. The first change noticed was the lack of froth & then the dreaded taste of our much loved coffee. We are far from impressed with the Mocha Sachets we have previously loved for years.
Mocha sachets

Like many others on here I, too, LOVE the mocha sachets. But recently there has definitely been a change in them. First the froth was absent. It didn't stick to the side of the cup like it used too. By this stage not much of the taste had changed. I just put it down to a bad batch. A few more boxes later and it was the same. Then came the change in taste. It's no longer a chocolate after-taste. Now it's like slime. It's bloody horrible.
I used to enjoy the hazelnut mocha while it was limited. Once they were removed I went back to the original mocha. I used to buy these in bulk as I'd drink up to ten a day. But now. I don't want your mocha anymore. Whatever it is that has been done is unacceptable. I won't buy them anymore. I'll just try a different brand of mocha. It's a shame. I have enjoyed nescafe for the past 20 years. I guess all good things come to an end eventually.
