Blend 43 is the only instant coffee I drink, I can walk into any supermarket and just crab the RED tin or jar, now I have to stop and look for my favourite coffee. Not a fan of the new look, I should have grabbed a RED mug when I had a chance

How many different labels do you need to use? I have 3 different tins of what is labelled Blend 43.

Hi Steven, our labels do change from time to time and at the moment we have a limited edition sustainability tin in market. We would love to chat further please call us on 1800 025 361. Nescafé Team
Not just a new look.

Hi, I regret to inform you that the quality of the coffee has changed too. I miss the original, you used to be able to smell the coffee as soon as you opened the jar/tin. Now you have to stick your nose in the jar/tin to be able to smell it. The taste too, is also a let down, being weaker than original. Please change it back.

Hi Jenni, please give our team a call on 1800 025 361, we would love to chat to you more about this. Nescafé Team
Nescaffe Blend 43 Taste Changed?
Submitted by Tony Warne on Tue, 06/09/2020 - 07:39
I have been drinking Blend 43 since as long as I can remember. I'm 59 now and go through 500g Tin every fortnight. Being on a pension, that is a considerable amount for us to pay, but given I enjoy it so much, we keep buying it.

I am very dissapointed to say that over the last 6-8 weeks labels, comments have change - "Made for Australian Taste", now we have "Bold & Smooth", but the problem is hat the last 3 tins have both tasted and smelt burnt.

Today when buying a new tin I honestly was changing brands.....but I decided to try one last tin and if it is not the usual taste, then I will be changing the coffee that I buy.

It looks like you have change the taste and that is very much what I and many others enjoyed. Look on the net..........it is a common topic and a complaint from your loyal customers.

Thank you.

Hi Tony, we're sorry to hear you haven’t been enjoying your coffee over these past weeks and you’re thinking about changing your much loved coffee of many years.
We’ve given our packaging a fresh new look but we haven’t changed the blend of beans that go into our Nescafé Blend 43 range. We’ve made a subtle change to the way we roast our Arabica and Robusta beans so we can deliver a perfectly balanced cup every time, while enhancing the existing bold and smooth taste.
We have a number of coffees in our range and would love to match you with your perfect blend. Please reach out to our friendly team on 1800 025 361.

Label has changed and taste has too
Submitted by Ajay Shenoy on Fri, 06/12/2020 - 11:02
Have been drinking Blend 43 for a while now. I recently bought the bold and smooth because I could not find my regular blend 43. Its only after getting here I have realised that its suposed to be the same but only the label has changed, but I beg to differ. There is so much difference in taste, does not smell or taste like before, seems more like a over roasted to almost burnt kind of taste. Can you please bring back the old "Made for Australian Taste" blend 43 please?

YOU: 'Bold and Smooth' ME: 'Insipid, coloured water'
Submitted by Lynn Adams on Wed, 07/08/2020 - 03:08
Nescafe Blend 43 has been my coffee of choice for years and always buy the 500g tin. When I needed to renew this week, I was faced with 3 different labels, none of which seemed what I was looking for. However, I decided to purchase the 'Bold and Smooth', thinking the Black may have been too strong and bitter.
I will now have to look for another brand because I can no longer trust Nescafe to suit my taste.
Why can't you simply keep a good thing alone?
Your loss!

Hi Lynn,
We're sorry to hear you haven't enjoyed your recent purchase of Nescafé Blend 43. We have given our packaging a fresh new look but have not changed the blend of beans. We'd love the opportunity to speak to you about our coffee. Please reach out to our team on 1800 025 361.

Have been drinking Nescafe Blend 43 for decades. Love the new label and can understand the need to do that. But why, why change the way you roast the beans? The old flavour tasted great! Why change something that works, now all you've achieved is the loss of so many loyal customers.

Hi Vicki,
We’re sorry to hear you are no longer enjoying Nescafé Blend 43. We now roast our Arabica and Robusta beans a little differently to enhance their bold, smooth taste. I am also a Nescafé blend 43 lover. Labels change that’s no drama but when the taste and smell changes I am disappointed especially if you say only the label has changed. If you want to mess with the taste give samples and get feedback as now I don’t trust I will get my great coffee back.

I can understand updated packaging but the taste has gone down the gurglar ! Tried the bold and smooth only to find even less flavour, certainly not bold!
Like so many others we are seriously considering changing brands!
So disappointed

Oh my why why why the change!!! Change your label but please keep it the same taste. It's definately not for the better. Bad taste bad burnt smell powdery not as granulated and obviously it's not just me. Hopefully you listen to your loyal customers that loved the old roasting way. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm disappointed I've always drunk Nescafe Blend 43 and enjoyed it until now. Will be donating my other new tins to charity and hopefully someone enjoys it more than us. Off to find a new brand of coffee. Bye Nescafe??

NO Customer Loyalty - Bye-Bye Nestle
Submitted by William on Mon, 09/14/2020 - 00:04
Shame on you Nestle - You obviously do not take take your customer feedback seriously. All the above reviews disapprove of the new flavour due to the changed roasting method, which has a badly burnt acrid smell and bitter taste when compared with the previously delicious smooth taste and lovely coffee aroma associated with the original Nescafe Blend 43. The new labelling is also too similar for 3 different coffee styles and extremely confusing.
If you have any loyalty to your customers - GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS ROASTING METHOD AND LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES.
Sorry, you have lost another customer.

Submitted by Susan Shaw on Mon, 09/14/2020 - 00:10
Never tasted such an awful apology for coffee in all my life. Now Nestle have the hide to shove samples of this trash through our mailboxes in a bid to get rid of it. Well, I got rid of it in the garbage bin! I refuse to buy another Nestle product until they do the right thing by millions of customers across the world and bring back the original Blend 43. If they don't, and they find themselves out of business, it serves them right.

Not a fan of the new look or taste
Submitted by Anita Moore on Wed, 09/30/2020 - 22:28
Sorry to say we are not a fan of the new look or taste of Nescafé. We have always used only Nescafé enjoying all the flavours but the dark roast tastes nothing like the Expresso and the Bold and Smooth is nothing like Blend 43. Please change back. Also the best thing about opening a new jar of Nescafé was the smell ... delicious. Now that is gone as well. Very sad as we will be finding another coffee to drink from now on. I also know a few other people who are not happy and will be changing. PLEASE CHANGE BACK. Why mess with a good thing.

Hi Anita, we are sorry you are no longer enjoying your Nescafé. We’re now roasting our Arabica and Robusta beans a little differently to enhance their bold, smooth taste. Over the years our sourcing and bean selection has developed to meet changing consumer tastes but our commitment to the best quality coffee remains unchanged. Besides wasting $88 buying 4 tins of dish water, I finally found what is claimed to be the 'original' Blend 43. I don't know why you'd betray your customer base you've built over half a century with this catastrophe, but you have, and we aren't standing for it. I've given away the disgusting tins I was stuck with, written off the $102 of wasted money, and am now looking for a new brand that deserve the next fifty years of loyalty from me or at least however many years I have left.

Don't bother telling me to ring your outsourced propaganda line like all the other posters, I don't care what you have to say unless it's "Look, sorry, we know we goofed and we are going to make it right and fix this, we'll refund and dispose of the toxic waste you accidentally bought and new REAL Blend 43 will be on the shelves next week and will be the ONLY tins marked Blend 43."

If it's not that then you can whistle, mate. And I sure as heck am not buying your Korean or foreign garbage either! Boy you goofed.

Hi Lex, we're sorry we have disappointed you after enjoying Nescafé Blend 43 for many, many years and you are thinking about changing your much loved brand. We would like to speak with you further. Please feel free to contact us on 1800 025 361.

Change in taste, change in potency.
Submitted by b on Thu, 10/15/2020 - 10:17
It takes six to seven spoons to get the same oomph as the old Blend 43, I have twelve tins all different here and cannot find one that tastes like the real Blend 43, they all taste like I forgot to put coffee in my cup. So now I have gone from 2 coffee 2 sugar to 7 coffee 2 sugar just to get NEAR the same taste, but it's still horrible.

I don't know what you're doing there, but you need to go back to what it was. I've been drinking this for 40 years and am now trying to find a new brand because of your betrayal. And no, I won't call you. Please escalate this to your product quality control team and stop palming us off to some offshore call centre please. This is terrible, and you're going to face a customer revolt at this rate.

You have betrayed us. For what? 'Sustainability'? Bunk. Profit? Probably. But you won't profit when no one buys your coffee anymore!

Hi, thank you for the feedback on our Nescafé Blend 43. We're sorry that you're no longer enjoying your much loved coffee. We'd like to chat to you further, we're in Aust. and can be reached on 1800 025 361.

Thanks Nescafe you have cured my caffiene addiction.

I’m compelled to comment on the downturn of the flavor of this iconic instant coffee. I have ALWAYS bought this coffee for my household (40 years or so)
I need to know WHAT ON Earth have you added to it lately. I can only guess you have moved the entire range to the same recipe as your espresso instant coffee. YUK ! I liken the flavor to drinking an Italian espresso that’s been on the stove too too long.
This coffee now has a distinctive burnt after taste.
WHAT THE Sam hell were you thinking. Please please change it back to the original recipe.
I’m gonna have to drink more tea if you don’t.

Hi Robyn, we're sorry you have not been enjoying your Nescafe Blend 43 recently. We have not made any changes to our blend of Blend 43 beans, however, we are now roasting our Arabica and Robusta beans a little differently to enhance their bold, smooth taste. Flavour and satisfaction gone
Submitted by Sharon Saukuru on Wed, 12/30/2020 - 04:32
Im with everybody else on here. Something has happened to the taste. My mother would be turning in her grave. Back when i was a child, my brother visited and took mums jar of blend 43 home with him. She rang him up and gave him and earful and made him travel back the 3hours by public transport to give her back her coffee. Our family are Blend 43 drinkers. Not Cafe Blend, Not Gold, and definitely not 3 in 1 or premix.
A cup of coffee used to satisfy me. Recently i have noticed that i have been putting in close to two teaspoons into my usual mug and after my coffee, im looking for another cup. There is definetly something lacking in the coffee nowdays. Maybe Nescafe needs to go back to the old way of roasting the beans and getting an uneven blend so that we are all satisfied again. I live in a small country that has very poor coffee, so having my Nescafe from Australia was one of my highlights. Now even that has gone. And just a heads up, dont suggest i ring, it wont happen. Just give all the Nescafe Blend 43 drinkers their favourite coffee back
Taste is terrible

After 43 years of enjoying my Nescafe blend 43, I cannot believe how anyone at Nestle thinks they have improved the taste by this new roasting method. Ditched the new jar and had to get what was left of the old product from my caravan. Enjoyed that!. Now searching for a new coffee brand. Rating is minus 5 but I was made to give 1 star.

Hi Chris, we're sorry you are no longer enjoying your Nescafé Blend 43 following the change we made to our roasting method. We appreciate the feedback and if you're looking for a new blend we can recommend Nescafé Blend 43 Smooth & Creamy to try.

Disappointed in the latest change
Submitted by Ron on Wed, 02/24/2021 - 04:29
So let down by your organisation - why change the formulation and label when it’s worked so well previously? Why did you change/tweak the way you roasted the beans? Sick of businesses like yours employing so-called “marketing and branding experts” to change things and “improve/increase market share & profits”. IT DOES NOT WORK, you will only lose more than your forecasted/hoped for gains. I and many others implore you to revert to the original and the best! You’ll still have short-term sales because of the previous formations’ reputations, but that will dwindle when people realise there is something wrong with the coffee, it’s not the one they’ve loved and enjoyed. Yuk - who likes burnt-tasting coffee? And why change “made for Australian tastes”? That gave people a nice warm feeling, we trusted it, and were proud to buy it, when so many products out there are Americanised. I sadly have been forced to change brands.

Hi Ron, we're sorry to hear you are no longer enjoying your favourite coffee and thinking of switching brands. We’ve given our packaging a fresh new look but we haven’t changed the blend of beans that go into our Nescafé Blend 43 range. I cannot drink enough of this coffee and prefer the Original Blend 43. I've tried the Espresso brand and must admit I'm not a favorite of it. I've also bought the Nescafé Red Mug machine for cappuccinos but it wasn't a hit with me as I prefer the frothy milk not mixed with hot water when making it.Now it just sits in my cupboard and had little use.Give me the Original any day and nice and hot !..P.S.. I get confused with the labeling now and see everywhere the "Gold" branding for Original Blend 43... I do prefer the old Red and Black.
