
NESCAFÉ AZERA Seasonal Tin Design
The inspiration behind the seasonal tin design
So how did this all happen? Well, it all started in 2019 in a world before lockdown. We discovered that NESCAFÉ AZERA drinkers were getting creative with our By Design collection tins. They were keeping and upcycling them for use around the house, office and classrooms and posting this on their social media. This inspired us to bring a little seasonal joy to the brand this year, and who better to partner with to bring this exclusively to their customers than Tesco. We chose our Americano blend to be our Christmas design as it is a firm favourite with customers; a special blend of fine ground coffee crafted from Arabica and Robusta beans, giving it a fruity aroma with a layer of velvety crema you’d expect from a coffee shop, ideal for those cold winter mornings.
A design for a special time of year
The holiday season means so much to so many different people; each with different opinions of what makes it so special. So, naturally there were several different routes the design could have taken, but we wanted it to stay true to the identity of the brand that you, our consumers, love.
We were keen for the design to be inspired by things that like coffee bring people together over the season such as games or activities. Which is how we chose this very cool look of origami; it made us think of the paper snowflakes you’d make as a child, each fold and small cut making a different design every time. We loved how colourful and 3D the design could become using this style. We played around with several colour variations to be able to include our NESCAFÉ AZERA orange colour, but agreed that this night time scene was the right choice as it gave the design a warm cosiness that is only associated with this special time of year.
This is the first time we have ever created a seasonal design for NESCAFÉ AZERA, and what a perfect year to do it. Our aim; to make the season a little bit more special for all those NESCAFÉ AZERA instant coffee drinkers out there.
