Zosia Bonkowska

Zosia is an illustrator and graphic designer from Poznań, Poland, currently living in London. Her work has a playful, character-led style and often includes quirky figures, expressive lines and bold, colourful shapes. She works across editorial, branding and animation, and has a particular interest in packaging illustration.

Zosia took part in the Enterprise Programme with The King’s Trust and has recently designed artwork for coffee bags, mugs, candles and more. Her submission for the NESCAFÉ Azera competition was inspired by summer holidays with her grandparents, bringing to life a nostalgic beach scene using collage-inspired textures.

Zosia said, “I wanted to capture that sense of heat, nostalgia, and joy from spending summers with my grandparents, reapplying sun cream, building sandcastles, and eating ice cream.” She’s now focused on developing her illustrative projects through competitions and client work, and is excited to explore new opportunities for her design studio.

Alexandra Rose

Alex is an illustrator from Cambridgeshire with a love for storytelling and whimsical design. After studying Illustration at university and working in retail, she discovered the NESCAFÉ Azera competition through The King’s Trust. Taking part in the competition helped Alex reconnect with her creativity and build her confidence.

Alex’s winning design took inspiration from fashion and millinery. Her entry features a swirling coffee cup-turned-headpiece to represent the brightness and energy of iced coffee in summer.

“There’s something so special about turning an everyday item into a little piece of art,” Alex said. She now hopes to grow her creative business and explore more illustration and packaging projects that bring her imaginative ideas to life.

Katie Sowter

Katie is a 24-year-old illustrator based in Nottingham, where she balances her creative work with caring full time for her grandmother. As a huge fan of drawing and design, Katie discovered the NESCAFÉ Azera competition through The King’s Trust and saw it as the ideal opportunity to put her creativity into action.

Her design is a playful take on the ‘Iced Coffee in the Summer’ competition brief, featuring a coffee bean relaxing on an ice cube to capture the refreshing feel of iced coffee.

Katie said, “Most people think of coffee as a hot drink, but my design is supposed to get people to think of iced coffee as a refreshing alternative.”

Looking ahead, Katie hopes to focus on designing posters, merchandise and album covers, with the dream of running her own creative business one day.

Rebecca Frost

Rebecca is an illustrator and print designer from the Lake District in Cumbria. Being surrounded by wildlife and nature has always inspired her work. After completing a design degree, she joined The King’s Trust Enterprise programme and now works as a Design Assistant for Mothercare, creating illustrations for children’s clothing.

Her NESCAFÉ Azera submission is a tribute to her Grandfather, the family’s biggest iced coffee fan, and captures the easy, joyful feel of summer days.

Rebecca said, “It’s kind of a homage to my Grandpa… he was the best at celebrating the little things, like picnics and iced coffee on a sunny day.”

Rebecca is keen to keep blending her love for illustration, print and product design in future work, with hopes to take on everything from stationery to children’s packaging.
