Where can I recycle my refill pack?

You can recycle your ORIGINAL Packs kerbside at home like any other at-home recycling. For more information on recycling in your local area, please search paper and your postcode at https://www.recyclenow.com/. For the Republic of Ireland consumers can visit the Repack website - https://repak.ie/.

What is my new refill pack made of?

Our new refill packs are made of paper, allowing them to be recycled at home through kerbside recycling.

Have you changed your refill pack?

Yes, we have changed to a paper Doypack which can be recycled at home in your waste paper stream.

How is the refill pack better than coffee glass jars?

Our glass jars and refill packs are designed to be used together – so they are both great options. Both our glass jars and our paper refill packs are fully recyclable; however, our paper refill packs are 97% lighter packaging weight than the jar.* Please use the refill pouches to keep refilling your glass jar. *150g refill pack vs 200g jar

Can I keep my coffee in the pouch without going stale?

Our paper refill packs don’t re-seal, so we recommend that you decant your coffee * into a glass jar or other re-sealable container. (*Once opened)

I can still see your plastic refill packs in store – why haven’t you stopped using these?

We are committed to improving our packaging and are currently in the process of transitioning all our refill packaging on NESCAFÉ ORIGINAL to paper throughout 2025.

Is the coffee in the NESCAFÉ® Original refill pack different from the glass jar?

No, we use the same recipe for the refill pack as for our popular NESCAFÉ Original glass jar.

Why is there aluminium on the inside of my NESCAFÉ® Original refill pack if it’s supposed to be made of paper?

As part of the development of this packaging our technical team have gone through a rigorous process to ensure the packaging is fit for purpose and a better solution than plastic alternatives when it comes to end of life. We have received accreditation from Papercycle, who are an organisation who certify whether paper products are recyclable or not. Here is a link - About Papercycle. The metalisation on this inner surface is there to preserve the coffee and represents a tiny percentage of the overall packaging weight. The consumer can rest assured that the packaging is recyclable within the paper recycling stream in the UK and the metalised element can be removed during the recycling process.
