14oz Taster’s Choice—Recycled Plastic Jar

Nestlé's commitment to creating a more sustainable future remains of paramount importance. Over the past several years, Nestlé has dedicated itself to this cause, pouring our hearts into crafting coffee that not only delivers a delicious cup. but also promotes a circular economy. The focus goes beyond just the taste of the coffee, with a deeper purpose in mind—to ensure that the packaging used to bring our coffee to consumers' homes is minimizing its impact on the environment.

The Goal: Reduce the company's virgin plastic use by approximately 1,000 metric tons.

Nestlé and Amcor Partner for Change
Today we are excited to share more news about our sustainability journey. Specifically, the recent initiative taken by the Nescafé Taster's Choice brand to shift our 14oz House and House Decaf to using 100% recycled plastic bottles. This represents a significant step towards reducing the company's virgin plastic use by approximately 1,000 metric tons. This change is a result of Nestlé partnering with global packaging manufacturer Amcor, to execute this initiative: "More and more consumers are making choices to purchase products in packaging made from recycled materials," says Greg Rosati, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing at Amcor.
Recycle the Recycled
"Consumers desire packaging that is convenient, easy to use, looks great and [is) now more responsible," Rosati says. "This new Taster Choice 14oz bottle satisfies all of those [things]. He adds that when a PET bottle like Taster's Choice is recycled, "Amcor is able to have a new bottle back on the shelf in a matter of weeks." As with NESCAFÉ glass jars, Taster's Choice bottles are widely recyclable. This change supports our commitment to reduce virgin plastic usage by a third by 2025.
A fresh redesign to match our mission
The shift from virgin plastic to 100% recycled plastic in Taster's Choice 14oz. bottles contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of a cup of coffee, further emphasizing Nestlé's commitment to achieving net zero. In addition to the packaging change, Nestlé has also given a fresh makeover to the jar labels and tray graphics of Taster's Choice, aligning them with the company's dedication to sustainable and ethically grown coffee. This update makes it easier for consumers to find Taster's Choice in stores and make a positive impact on the environment with every sip.
