The secret to making fresh, authentic, great-tasting coffee is to work with nature, not against it. Take a minute to shelter from the fierce Brazilian midday sun among the coffee trees and you’ll find beds of luxuriant, cool grass between them. Feels great, doesn’t it? But it’s not for farmers to take a quick nap on – it plays a vital part in our commitment to natural coffee growing.

Our Brazilian partner farmers use state-of-the-art techniques on their modern farms combined with ecological farming methods to reduce the environmental impact.

A green carpet of grass protects the soil from the baking sun, keeping it cool and moist, and preventing the spread of pesky weeds without needing so much artificial herbicide. We call it microshading – and it’s part of our mission to inspire coffee farmers to use natural innovations around their farms whenever they can.

Of course, using less herbicide is better for the farmers’ wellbeing as well as their coffee. So raise a cup of good health… or ‘saúde!’ as they say here.

We believe that eco-friendly coffee farming means naturally flavoursome coffee – something you can taste with every cup.

  • Solar-powered beans

If Honduran farmers can dry their beans themselves on their farms, they get more cash for their crops. Luckily, we’ve got a solar-powered, design-led solution to help them.

  • Radical tree renovation!

Sometimes the advice our experts give looks pretty severe. But African growers trust us with their livelihoods, and extreme techniques pay off with bigger crops.

  • We’re spicing up coffee farming!

We’ll let you into a secret – sometimes we advise our farmers to plant crops other than coffee! Like avocados, chillis and nuts. Agricultural biodiversity is good for the land, and it’s good for our partner farmers.

  • Recycling made easier

Our new sachets are easier to recycle, and keep your coffee just as fresh as before.

  • Enjoy more at 80ºC

Did you know that 100% NESCAFÉ flavour doesn’t need 100ºC boiling water? And if you use less heat, you’ll save a whole lot of energy too.
